LADY MUSTANGS LOSE TO EAST MECK
Friday night the Lady Mustangs played East Meck.  With East Meck being one of the strongest teams in the conference, no one was expecting much out of this game.  But, the girls just wanted to play.  East started strong scoring 18 points in the 1st qtr to our 7, but the girls rallied in the second and scored 19 of their own.  The girls were down by 10 at halftime.  Again, our girls came out strong at the beginning of the 3rd to pull within 6 points.  The East Meck coach called a timeout, made some adjustments and they pulled away.  The final score was East 57 and MP 42.  But, the girls put up a great fight with a very good team.  Courtney Zona had 19 points including 5 3-point field goals.   Tiffani Stephens scored 10 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots.  Nicole Iacopetti had 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.  The girls play Providence at home Tuesday night.  Hope to see you there!!!

The girls are back to conference play this Friday night against a tough Butler team.  Please come out and support your teams.

LADY MUSTANGS LOSE TO INDEPENDENCE
Tuesday night, the Lady Mustangs hosted Independence.  Tiffani Stephens had her best game ever as a Mustang shooting 14 of 18 from the field.  Scoring 28 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and blocking 5 shots wasn't enough for the Mustangs to win.  The girls lost with a final score of 53 - 49.  Weddington will be at Myers Park tonight.  Good luck girls!

LADY MUSTANGS ATTEND HOLY ANGELS CHARITY TOURNAMENT The Lady Mustangs participated in the Holy Angels Charity Tournament at Charlotte Catholic High School this weekend.  Friday night the girls beat Gaston Day 43 - 27.  Courtney Zona led all scorers with 14 points.  This win put the Mustangs in the Championship game on Saturday against the host school team, Charlotte Catholic.  This time we came out on the losing end 41 - 55.  Tiffani Stephens and Rebecca Raffler were the leading scorers with 14 and 12.  Nicole Iacopetti and Courtney Zona were both named all tournament players.  Conference games begin this week.  Tuesday night, the girls will host Independence.
